Science Week 2020

The boys and girls from Junior Infants to 6th class have been extremely busy this week getting stuck in with lots of experiments for Science Week.
Children took part in the following experiments:
-Skittles Colour Experiment
-Making Cloud Dough
-Flying Paper Airplane
-Design a road and move your car using a magnet
-Building Geodesic Domes
-Making a Circuit – Light up Lighthouse
-Experiments on air and air pressure – Making flames
-Coke and mentos experiment
-Measuring Heart Rates before and after exercise
-Light: Making a water drop magnifier
The older classes were also treated to online science workshops by “Makermeet” as part of the Cavan Monaghan Science Week programme.
They made a paper circuit using batteries and LED lights in order to light up a lighthouse and experimented with scrappy circuits.
The bright sparks in The Model School had a very productive week and the future is certainly safe in our young scientists’ hands. ?
