School Newsletter 1st March 2019

Dear Parents,

School Training Day: The school will be closed on Friday 15th March for the day. Teachers will be taking a Department of Education Training Day for the New Primary Language Curriculum. The school will re-open on Tuesday 19th March at 9:20am. (Closed Monday for the Bank Holiday)

School Book Fair: The book fair will be arriving in school on Monday 4th March until Friday 8th March. Children can buy books and stationary. The school receives a large commission towards books for the school. All children have received a voucher which will either give them a discount of €1.50 off a book or it can be redeemed for a free book at a bookshop. These vouchers are valid from 28th Feb to 31st March. This year payments can be made directly to the company using a debit/credit card over the phone by phoning 01-5686328. Our school a/c number is: 90001224 and you will need to take down the transaction code and give this to the school to collect your selected books. Money can be brought in on the day either. This is just another option for parents.
Step 1: Your child selects a book(s).
Step 2: Teacher records the total cost on the payment slip.
Step 3: Child brings payment slip home with these details.
Step 4: Parent phones the book company using the school account number and makes payment over the phone.
Step 5: Parent takes down the unique transaction code on this payment slip. (This is very important)
Step 6: Return payment slip to school.
Step 7: Collect books from teacher.

World Book Day: World Book Dress Up Day will now be on Friday 8th March so all children are asked to dress up as a character from a book. No money required. Some ideas can be found on: https://www.worldbookday.com/ideas/dressing-up-gallery/ . We will be giving out five €7.00 book vouchers for the five most original outfits on the day, which can be used at the Book Fair. Thank you.

Seachtain na Gaeilge: It is Seachtain na Gaeilge from 1st to 17th March. Children will be doing extra Irish activities during these two weeks. We have started today with Irish Dancing in all rooms.
